Volvo has launched the S60 Cross Country in India at Rs 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The S60 Cross Country was first unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in 2015.
The four-door sedan is built to do some occasional off-roading as well, as apart from the raised height – up by 65mm over the standard S60. The car comes with all-wheel drive as standard and comes with an impressive ground clearance of 201mm.
The S60 Cross Country is powered by the 2.4-litre D5 five-cylinder diesel engine used in the standard S60. The motor, a 2.4-litre D4, develops 189bhp, 42.83kgm of torque and sends power to all the wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Equipment available includes electric front seats, satellite navigation, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, front, side and curtain airbags, a laser assisted autonomous braking from speeds upto 50kph, hill descent control and hill start assist as part of the company’s City Safety system and a tyre pressure monitoring system amongst others.
Volvo is expected to launch a slew of new models in India this year. The car maker is likely to introduce its Polestar performance division sometime during the year, with a performance version of the S60 sedan.
