Canadian Boxer Cody Nixon and his two friends were killed in a high-speed car accident next to Jumeirah Lake Towers in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to sources. They had rented a high-performance Ferrari 458 Spyder for their visit to Dubai.
The driver, whose identity has not been confirmed, is reported to have hit a curb on Al Sarayat Street at high speed, causing the car to hit a lamp post before "splitting in half" and killing all three.
The accident took place near Jumeirah Lake Towers at about 12.40am on Sunday, according to Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police.
"We received a report of an accident on Al Sarayat road near Jumeirah Lake Towers, where a car swerved, hit the curb and the driver lost control and hit a lamp post," Col Al Mazroui said.
