It was round 4 of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship held at Bengaluru in sunny conditions. The championship has 3 categories, the senior, the junior & the Micro (drivers aged 7 to 12).
The Junior Category saw a lot of action and excitement as Mohammed Nalwalla of Rayo Racing finished 1st in Heats 1 & 2 in spite of pressure from the others which put him on pole for the Pre-finals.
In the Pre-finals, he began well and had a huge lead between him and the other racers. He was unfortunate as his car's engine seized after a few laps and had to force retire which gave Manav Sharma of BPC Racing the top spot.
In the finals however it was Rayo Racing’s Mohammed Nalwalla who impressed with his skills, starting last (15th on the grid) . He finished remarkably well to take the 3rd position as he overtook 12 competitors during the race. In 1st was Manav Sharma of BPC Racing, followed by Akash Gowda in 2nd.
In Senior prefinals, Ricky Donison of BPC Racing finished ahead of Rayo Racing’s Nayan Chatterjee & Mohite Racing’s Dhruv Mohite. In the Senior Finals, Rayo Racing’s Ameya Bafna starting last on the grid raced to notch the 3rd place and also secured the fastest lap with a time of 54.347. Nayan Chatterjee also racing for Rayo Racing team raced brilliantly to take the second spot. Ricky Donison of BPC Racing who dominated the weekend, won the race easily.
In the Micro Max category, Shahan Ali Mohsin continued his domination and won ahead of his Meco Racing team-mate - Nikhil Bohra. Ruhaan Alva of BPC Racing finished 3rd.
The last and final round of the Championship will be held back to Bengaluru early next month.
