Nico Rosberg wins the Australian Grand Prix in style

Nico Rosberg won the Australian Grand Prix clearly 8 seconds ahead of reigning champion Lewis Hamilton. This was also his fourth successive Formula 1 victory in an Australian Grand Prix. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel sneaked in third.

The highlight of the race was Alonso walking away safely when his McLaren ran into the rear of Esteban Gutierrez's Haas, slammed into the wall and flipped.
The red flag was used and a 20 minute stoppage to the race.

Rosberg edged Hamilton wide at Turn 1 which allowed Raikkonen to sneak in through on the inside to move to second. Hamilton was sixth behind the Ferraris, Rosberg and even Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen and Felipe Massa's Williams. Four laps later, Hamilton overtook Massa. 

Raikkonen soon retired from third as his Ferrari gave way to power-unit failure leading to flames from the engine cover. Rosberg managed to hold his ground over the closing laps to take his 15th victory in Formula 1.

Ricciardo claimed fourth, followed by Massa, with Romain Grosjean scoring points for Haas on its debut. Force India's Nico Hulkenberg was seventh, followed by Valtteri Bottas for Williams. Daniil Kvyat was very unlucky as his car retired before the start.

27 Year British National Faces 6 months Jail For Crossing At Singapore F1 Race Track

27 year old British National, Yogvitam Pravin Dhokia appeared in court on Tuesday (Sept 22) with committing a rash act by crossing the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix track on Sunday during the race.

He is accused of the rash act to endanger the safety of the Formula One drivers involved in the race near Turn 13 along Esplanade Drive at about 9pm that day.

The prosecution sought an adjournment to finalise investigation. Deputy Public Prosecutor Marshall Lim said fresh charges may be submitted against him. Bail of $15,000 was offered.

Mr Lim said the bailor could be a Singaporean or a consular officer from the British High Commission. Asked by the court, he said the embassy has been informed. Yogvitam's passport has also been impounded. He told the court that the bail sum was too high for him and he is currently not working.

The case will be heard next on Oct 6. If convicted, he faces jail for up to six months and/or fined up to $2,500.

Sebastian Vettel Wins The Singapore Grand Prix

Ferrarri's Sebastian Vettel won the Singapore Grand Prix in the 61 lap race, and his third win of the year. With 42nd win of his career, he also passed the legend Aryton Senna on the career all time win list. Leading from pole position, Vettel was in complete control from start to finish and never looked back. Daniel Ricciardo took second slot for Red Bull, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen driving for Ferrari.

Championship leader Lewis Hamilton running fourth had to retire when he suddenly lost power and slowed down. This was also his first race retirement of the year. His team-mate Nico Rosberg came fourth and is now 2nd in the drivers standing with 41 points behind.

Williams's Valtteri Bottas took fifth, ahead of Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat. Force India's Sergio Perez was seventh. With six races remaining this year, we will have to see if Rosberg can win more races and romp ahead of Lewis Hamilton for the Driver's championship. Vettel is not far away, as only eight points separates him from Rosberg.

Nico Hulkenberg was penalised three places grid drop for the next race in Japan for causing a collision with Felipe Massa. This happened on lap 14 and a safety car had to be deployed. On lap 37, the second safety car had to be in action as a spectator was wandering along the track.

Team Williams made the most of the second safety car to keep Bottas ahead of Kvyat, but lost out with the timing of his pit stops.

F1 next heads to the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit. Is it going to be Vettel or Hamilton or Rosberg? Only time will tell.

Witnessing Formula One LIVE

It was an awesome experience to witness the Formula 1 LIVE in India at Noida, year 2011. And what more could one ask for but to watch the race from the Grand stands. Right from the practice run on Friday, the qualifying run on Saturday and the big Race day, the three day bonanza was worth the money- Rs. 35,000 (530 USD). Getting more than just a glimpse of all those lovely F1 cars just made my day. And to my final surprise, the icing on the cake. I got a glimpse of the famous Hollywood comedian Mr. Rowan Atkinson, aka Mr. Bean, who was Mr. Lewis Hamilton's guest for this race.

Hamilton Dominates At Monza, Extends Championship Lead

Lewis Hamilton won the Italian Grand Prix extending his lead over team mate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton also survived a post-race investigation into his starting tyre pressure. The win was his his seventh of the season on Sunday and the third win at this circuit. The 40th career win moves him just one victory behind the legend Ayrton Senna and Ferrari Driver, Sebastian Vettel. Nico Rosberg was unable to finish the race as the engine of his car caught fire . This was also his first DNF of the year. He is 53 points behind team mate Hamilton.

Hamilton completely dominated in Italy, as he set the fastest lap times in all the practice sessions, in qualifying and also set the race’s fastest lap. Vettel, the four-time world champion picked up the fourth Monza podium finish of his career with second place to his credit. 

Williams Felipe Massa took the third place after holding off team mate Valtteri Bottas to secure his second podium finish of the season. Team Williams earned 27 points in Italy which is the biggest single race haul of the year.

Both Force India had a top ten finish at this circuit. They collected 14 points after Sergio Perez came home sixth and Nico Hulkenberg seventh. It was also the team’s fourth double points finish in 12 races this season. This also helped the team to maintain the fifth slot with 63 points in the Constructors standing.

Daniil Kvyat came home tenth also the fourth race in a row in which he’s scored points. It was a disappointment race for Team Lotus as both their drivers had to retire before the end of the second lap for the third time this season. Pastor Maldonado has now completed just three of the last 96 racing laps.

Sebastian Vettel Wins The Hungarian Grand Prix In Style

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won the Hungarian Grand Prix and paid tribute to Jules Bianchi yesterday. The second and third spot was sealed by Red Bull drivers Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo. It was a proud moment for Vettel as he equalled third with the great legend Ayrton Senna with his 41st win overall.  

21 year old Kvyat of Russia drove magnificently to claim his first ever podium. Defending champion Lewis Hamilton started from pole position but managed to finish sixth after he ran off the track. Nico Rosberg was very unfortunate as his tyre got punctured when he was all set to take the second position. The German drive had to be content with the eight position at the chequered flag.

Jos Verstappen of Netherlands finished fourth for Toro Rosso and Spaniard Fernando Alonso finished fifth for Mclaren. Force India cars started at 11th and 13th position but could not finish the race. 

There was a minute's silence in memory of Jules Bianchi before the race started. The drivers stood arm in arm in circle around their helmets along with Bianchi's family.

"This victory is for Jules," said the Ferrari driver after the win. "We know that it has been an incredibly tough week and it’s for all of us very difficult, so this one is for him and especially all the people in Ferrari. We knew that sooner or later he would have been part of our team, part of this family. Cette victoire, c’est pour Jules.”

Lewis Hamilton leads the championship table with 202 points followed by team-mate Nico Rosberg with 181 points and Sebastian Vettel with 160 points. Nico Hulkenburg despite the crash, is in 9th poistion with 24 points. In the constructors table, Mercedes is seating comfortable with 383 points, followed with Ferrari and Williams with 236 ad 151 points. Force India is in fifth position with 39 points.

Formula 1 Driver Jules Bianchi Dies Of Injury

Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi breathed his last yeaterday. The french driver had sustained major head injuries during last years Japanese Grand Prix in October. He was only 25 year old and would have turned 26 on August 3.

Jules had competed in 34 races in 2013 and 2014 seasons for Team Marussia. He gave the team his first points of the season by finishing in 9th position at the Monaco Frand Prix. This helped the Marussia team to notch one place higher than team Sauber in the points standings. 

Bianchi was in coma since October 5, in which his car had smashed up with the mobile crane which was being used to pick up another crashed car (involving Adrian Sutil) at the wet Japanese circuit.

The family statement said "Jules fought right to the very end, as he always did, but today his battle came to an end. The pain we feel is immense and indescribable." 

The Manor team tweeted: "We are devastated to lose Jules after such a hard-fought battle. It was a privilege to have him race for our team."

Lewis Hamilton Cruises To Superb Victory at British Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory at the 2015 Formula 1 British Grand Prix and third on his home ground. Team mate Nico Rosberg came second followed by Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. 

Earlier, Hamilton had got his 8th pole out of 9 races this year. Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas made a flying start from the second row to lead Hamilton and Rosberg. Lewis made a pit stop on the 19th lap for tyre change. Massa and Rosberg went in the pits on 20th lap and Bottas on the 21st lap. Hamilton passed them before they joined the circuit from the pits. 

Major drama happened during the race as we saw some cars crashing and rain interrupting in between. At one go, three cars including Lotus's Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado and McLaren's Jenson Button car were taken out of the race.

Williams Massa and Bottas despite a fight and some bad luck finished 4th and 5th respectively with Daniil Kvyat of Red Bull finishing 6th. Sauber's Felipe Nasr had a horrible day as his car got stuck in the sixth gear on the grid formation lap. Force India's Nico Hulkenberg came 7th with team mate Sergio Perez finishing 9th. Overall, it was good to see both driver collecting points. Raikkonen came eighth and Fernando Alonso scored his first point of the season with 10th for McLaren.

Two times World defending champion Hamilton leads the pack with 194 points to is credit followed by Rosberg’s 177, with Vettel third on 135. Mercedes have 371 points to Ferrari's 211 and Williams 151.
