German luxury car maker Mercedes—Benz today announced the launch of AMG GT S in India by racing icon, Bernd Schneider priced at Rs. 2.4 crore (ex—showroom Delhi). The car, which comes with a 4 litre bi-turbo engine, is the company’s 14th new product introduction of the year in the country. The company had announced its plan to launch 15 new products in 2015 in India.
"The launch of the AMG GT S is the finest example of our top—of—pyramid approach for the Indian market as we are presenting the most acclaimed product from our global portfolio," Mercedes—Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger told reporters here.
The car features includes adaptive brake lights, composite braking system, automatic child seat recognition and eight airbags. Mercedes—Benz currently sells ten AMG products in the country. Adding to the features, it has five different dynamic setting modes - Comfort, Sport, Sport +, RACE and Individual.
The car engine is powered with internally installed turbochargers and dry sump lubrication that comes with a 4.0 L V8 engine which produces a whopping 510 bhp of power. It races from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/hour.
